Post by Alex Falconer on Jul 25, 2007 19:00:27 GMT
Name: Alexandria Marie Falconer
House: Gryffindor
Position: Chaser
Sample Roleplay: The wind was blowing hard and the rain felt like ice as it smashed into any bare skin, revealed beneath the crimson Quidditch Robes. Alex's grip on either her broom or the Quaffle never lessened as she sped towards the opposite end of the Pitch, towards the Hufflepuff goalposts. She could barely see behind her goggles and the wind was deafening her, but she kept going. Everyone kept going. This was the worse weather for a Quidditch Match, but Quidditch never waited for the weather to shine.
Suddenly a Bludger appeared before her, hurting at her head, dead on. Throwing the Quaffle to another red Chaser- she couldn't see which- she sped out of the way, and rolled her broom to avoid it's return attack from the second Beater. Suddenly her hands slipped and her legs lost their hold, spinning around on the broom and ending up hanging from it by one hand she quickly reached up with the other looking down. It was metres down to the pitch. Great. Just great. Swinging carefully, so as not to slip her holding again, she swung a leg up was aboard her broom once again.
Shooting off in the direction she had been going she headed for a swath of yellow and red, where the Chaser of both teams were battling it out. Slowing her broom Alex got an idea. Edging her broom closer, at a slower pace, she watched what was happening and saw a pattern in poth teams' play. She'd mention that to Rose later. But right now there were moves to watch and a game to win. Suddenly she shot forward like a bullet, finding her goal. The Quaffle changed hands exactly as she predicted and Alex intercepted, not slowing or turned her broom, and simply zoomed out of the group and towards the goalposts, now left free of all players save the Keeper. The crowd may have roared or it migh thave been the wind, Alex didn't know but once the Quaffle was through the center hoop, she knew without a doubt that every Gryffindor in the grounds were screaming their approval...
Accepted as Gryffindor Chaser

Name: Rose Elise Potter
House: Gryffindor
Position: Beater
Sample Roleplay: A thick mist had settled over the Quidditch pitch over night, but that would never deter Hogwarts students from playing a game of Quidditch for the Quidditch Cup. Rose Potter had dreamed for years that she would one day be the captain who was handed the Cup for Gryffindor's win. She had been accepted onto the team in her fourth year, and had this year been chosen as the Captain. It had been a huge surprise to Rose, who had been sure that her friend Alex would be the one to be chosen as Captain after their last Captain, Susan Pollin, had left Hogwarts. Out of the two, Alex had always seemed, to Rose at least, to be have more leader qualitites. But it hadn't turned out that way, and now Rose was Captain, watching her team prepare for the first game of the year.
Today, they were to be playing Hufflepuff. Despite their losses last year, Rose was not going to underestimate the other team. Like Gryffindor, Hufflepuff also had a new Captain, and like Gryffindor, they were eager to beging the Quidditch year. Quickly tying up the lacing on her wrist-shields, Rose grabbed her broomstick and went to make sure her team were ready for action. As she moved between the players, Rose was pleased to see that they were all dressed and ready to go, broomsticks held firmly in hands. Rose couldn't help but smile. This was going to be a good game.
"Before we go out, folks, let me just say this: Expectations are for people who want you to perform to some amazing standard that is humanly impossible." Her green gaze moved between the team, from beater to keeper, from seeker to chaser, "What I want is your best. And your best is better than any old Hufflepuff can do, right?" Her voice raised towards the end, and Rose was pleased to hear the resounding "Right!" that called back at her. "Well, let's go kick some Hufflepuff butt!" And with that she swooped out of the changing rooms and up to the Quidditch pitch where Professor Knighton was waiting to give her House team a quick round of encouragement before she headed off to her stand.
"Play clean and keep this civilised." Rose heard the customary words as she stood in the centre of the pitch with the Hufflepuff Captain and the flying teacher for first years. "Shake hands." Rose did so, let go of the Hufflepuff Captain's hand, and then quickly took her beater's club in her right hand, gripping it with a firm grip, ready for the game to begin.... Accepted as Gryffindor Beater and Captain

Post by Tyler Lestrange on Jun 3, 2008 20:16:22 GMT
Name: Tyler Lestrange House: Gryffindor Position: Seeker Sample Roleplay: Tyler Lestrange's eyes opened with a start, the mornings sun beamed down upon his bed making his eyes snap shut once more. Bring his hand to his face he rubbed them with his palm as he let out a loud yawn. Gingerly his eye lids opened once more and he looked around the apparently deserted dormitory. However that wasn’t unusual, the other lads he shared the dorm with tended to always get up a lot earlier than he did, especially on the weekends. A wide smile appeared on the Gryffindor’s face, yes it was Saturday. Oh how he loved them. His head dropped back upon the pillow and his eyes closed again, surrendering his mind to sleep, but then… “Crap!” The covers were quickly pulled off the boys body and within a second he was off the bed and his trunk slung open. How could he have forgot, the bloody Quidditch trials. This was though typical of Tyler, never turning up to anything on time, even things he had organized. Why had they said eleven in the morning, why not midday or for that matter why not make it late afternoon, just before dinner. Then he could have really enjoyed his usual weekend lay ins. Pulling on his jeans his gaze moved to the clock that sat on his bedside table 10:55 am, “Double crap,” he muttered as he grabbed a black hoodie and started to pull it over his head. Tyler strode onto the Quidditch pitch in the crisp morning air, his broom on his shoulder and the large trunk floating after him. A wide smile was fixed upon his face at the thought of a new Quidditch season. He stopped in the very centre of the pitch, the trunk falling noisily to the ground. It immediately began shaking and a loud thumping noise echoed from inside. Tyler turned on the spot, smiling up at the stands, and imagined them full of cheering crowds as he had many times seen them before. Accepted as Gryffindor Seeker

Post by Aleah Grigorievna on Jun 9, 2008 15:52:58 GMT
Name: Aleah Grigorievna Romanov
House: Gryffindor
Position: Chaser
Sample Roleplay:
Whoosh
That was the only sound that Aleah heard when she was on her broom high above the pitch. She had accepted long ago that she wouldn't be able to be a seeker at Hogwarts like she was back home. She had become comfortable in the knowledge that if she wanted to play she would have to be a chaser instead. Now she had the wind in her face blowing back her ponytail of chocolate brown hair.
It was hard at first training her eyes to look for the giant red ball instead of the glinting gold of the small precious snitch. She could remember someone throwing the Quaffle at her and she saw a glint of gold and turned torwards it going after the small little ball instead.
Slap
That was the sound that the quaffle made against her gloved hands as Alex had tossed her the red ball. She sped off torwards the goal. She heard the familiar crack of a beater's bat against a bludger. She only assumed it was going back torwards her. She yelled for Alex as she tossed the Quaffle back to her. The bludger hit her in the right shoulder. Good thing she was left handed. The pain was annoyingly present though.
Aleah heard the sound of the bells ringing as Alex had scored. "Way to go!" she yelled at cheering for her teammate. Would Aleah like to be the one to make the goal yes but as long as Gryffindor made the goal that was all that mattered. Now if only Tyler would hurry up and find the snitch so she could go hex that beater who hit her.
