ENTRY #1
I'm really struggling at the moment with my dad. He doesn't seem to even want to consider the idea of me being an Auror. He says that he'll support me but I know what he's like. Sure he'll never actually say that I can't be one. But he'll do everything in his power to see me persuaded to do something else- like this opportunity with the Harpies. It's so annoying, and I really want his approval for this! It's important!
I know that mum isn't going to be happy. She never liked the idea of me being a witch to begin with. Oh sure she was happy for me- my mum's like that. Always happy for others. She encourages me so much, but I know that she was nervous about all of the spells and curses that we were learning- Dad made the mistake of giving in to her when she first asked to go to St Mungo's. She said that she wanted to see the consequences of magic before I started Hogwarts. She didn't like it one bit. Now she's afraid that I'll end up with a teapot for a head or something. It doesn't matter that I'm getting good grades. She seems to think that the better I do the more dangerous magic I learn. Which is true, but at least I'm not an idiot performing bad spells all the time- or I really would end up in St Mungo's. Quidditch was another problem for her, but dad soon squashed that one. He made sure to tell her every safety proceedure there was in the game and reminded her that if it was really dangerous the Ministry would have banned it. He obviously didn't mentioned that the Ministry has tried to in the past for that very reason. There was such a huge revolt against the idea that they never tried to again.
I'm definitely set on this Auror thing though. And on becoming an Animagus. I won't give up. This should be a great challenge- I love testing myself, and this'll be the most challenging thing yet. And we've got a Quidditch match later in the month- Gryffindor versus Slytherin. I can't wait! This year is gonna be so packed with stuff. It's gonna be a blast!
